What does this procedure mean?यह क्या है?
Transjugular liver biopsy obtains liver tissue through a vein, commonly via the neck, and is designed to provide diagnostic tissue while using a venous route.

It may be considered when liver tissue is needed and a transjugular approach is preferable based on the clinical situation, including selected patients with increased bleeding risk or fluid in the abdomen.

How it is usually done
A catheter is introduced through a vein and a biopsy device is advanced through the hepatic venous route to obtain tissue.

- Rare bleeding or injury to abdominal structures
- Results may occasionally be limited by sample size
